To all immigration gurus:

I have already filled my N400 form in Jan. 2004 and I have given the finger print in August 2004 at Charlotte, NC. Later on, I figured out that by mistake I have not attached any documents other than Pay order. I know I had to submit petrographs and the copy of Green Card, which I completely forgot to attach with the application. :o . I will sincerely appreciate if any one would answer the following questions.

1. Should I just send the photographs along with the copy of Green Card
2. Should I wait to hear from the Immigration Officials
3. Since I forgot to attach the necessary documents, should it increase the
processing time significantly.

Or any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance, :)

When you received your NOA it would have stated that some documents where missing. In any case, you can take it when you are called for interview and I don't believe it will affect the processing time assuming its a straight forward case.

On a side note: I guess you are not a wise man :D :D

1. You can if you want to , send it to the Svc Ctr and refer your A# and ESC# (Receipt #)
2. You will get a "Application Receipt with Exception". They will ask you to bring the documents with you to the interview.
3. If it just photographs then answer is no. I dont think they need a copy of your GC to validate and recover your A#....... You already have had your FP, so your case is moving.

My suggestion....
Collect all docs and take it with you to the interview

Thanks every one for your valuable suggestions. :) I really appreciate your help. I will be waiting to get the update from TX Service Center.

Side note: You got me!! Definately, I have not filled out N400 form wisely...
Thanks any way..

Phillydude aksed if your NOA required you to present any further evidence, or made reference to missing documents .. did your NOA say anything about this ..?

No big deal!

Hey, it's no big deal, I would just wait till you get the NOA (Notice of Action) as others have suggested. I would not waste time sending documents to the service centers, personally that's a waste of time. The service center is a sorting center (They enter your application data into the computer, send information to the FBI for name check, check date, fees, eligibility, and send receipts.) They also put you in the que for an interview. No documents checks!

Your NOA will state the documents you need to bring for interview. All corrections is done at the interview by the AO (Adjudication Officer). In my case, I tried several times unsuccessfully to do a name correction with several certified mails and calling the customer service number, even the correction done at the fingerprinting center did not correct the typo, until it was corrected at the interview.

I have received the NOA for FP, which instructed me to appear at local INS office for FP completion. Later on, I appeared at local INS office and provided my FP. There had been no mention in NOA about the missing
documents( i.e., photographs and Green Card). Since I received the NOA
for FP, I assume that the missing documents are not preventing the normal processing flow of my application. Meanwhile, I also called the TX Service Center and talked to a representative. She mentioned that service center will send me the application with the request of missing documents. I was not so sure about her knowledge how service center handles this kind of situation.

I was interested to know if any one had similar kind of experience and
if anything else needs to be done to fix the problem.

I sincerely appreciate all the suggestions and remarks that have been provides by the members of this forum. :)

Thanks,

wiseman.

I know a person who forgot to send his 2 photos with application so he took them to his interview and everything went fine.

?

Hey Wiseman, are you sure you spoke to someone at the TSC. If Iam correct, USCIS has discontinued all phone access to the service centers, all inquiries are handled by the customer service toll free number.

Also, the FP notice will not mention anything about missing documents, you should be recieving a letter for interview in the next few days, the notice for interview will tell you what documents to bring for the interview.

Rgds
