For those whose primary case got approved but derivative case is still pending

Dear all,

My I485 (May 2003) got approved a couple of weeks ago, and my wife's I485, filed at the same as mine, has been pending.
We contact FBI (Tel + Fax). Yesterday, my wife's I485 got approved.

I definitely think the delay is caused by FBI's delay in finishing the name check. So, I suggest you guys keep on contacting FBI. you can find tel. no
from this group.

Separetely, I found that FBI no long take call, and so one cannot leave message there. Instead, you can send your inquiry to the following email address: fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov. Since this email service is relatively new, you are strongly suggested to send your inquiry earlier so it can be easily get noticed and be taken care of by FBI.

I will keep on stay together with you guys although our cases have been approved.

Would you please share the sample letter that you fax/tel to FBI for the name check?

My case is approved per on line message as well as the email from USCIS, however, my husband case is still showing the message.

how long until you get the answer from FBI

I sent an e-mail yesterday to FBI regarding pending name check, and I was wondering how long it will take until I'll get an answer. Anybody knows?

Spouse's I-485

Hi:
My I-485 got approved on 09/03/04.
My wife's still pending! We both applied together in one package and did both fingerprints together at Boston. All requisite douments were included.
Does anyone know how long is the usual lag between the approval of principal applicant and derivative applicant?

I contacted FBI for my husband's name check on Sept 29, and we got response from FBI on Nov 3rd, it says:

A review of the FBI's Name Check Program database revealed that a
request from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
for (my husband's name) was received on December 21, 2002 and is currently in a pending status. Due to increased national security concerns, in December 2002 to early 2003, the USCIS submitted an additional 2.7 million name checks for processing to the FBI. Your Name Check has been assigned to an Analyst to work on. You will be notified upon the completion of
your Name Check.

This means that my husband's name check has been pending for almost two years.

Since this email says that my husband's name check has been assigned to some officer already, do you think I should do something else to speed up this process?
