For Those Who Found Out their Case is Assigned to an Officer, Did you get Approval Within a Week?

Guys,

I leave CA in a week or so. Most likely if/when I get my
approval I will fly back to San Fran to get the stamping.

However, if I hear that my case is assigned to an officer,
then I can delay my leaving till I get approval.

Do you think this is a good idea?

I assume once a case is assigned to an officer, it should
only be a week or so before it is approved.

Can\'t you get it stamped wherever you go ...

Recently someone had posted experience of getting it stamped in NJ where that guy had moved though approval came to CA address (forwarded by friend in his case).

No comments about \'assigned\' and time after that for approval!!

Sorry Bongo I don\'t think so

Bongo, they told me that my case has been assigned to officer
from Dec 3rd. It has been already 2 working weeks over and I
still have not got my approval.

Assigned to officer I think means that your file goes from a general
shelf to the officer\'s shelf. The officer may have some more cases
assigned to him/her before yours and then it is any one\'s guess.

Some one on this board said that I should get approval within 3 weeks.
If that is true, I will let everyone know in next week.

Re this

WHen my friends wife spoke to the IIO the IIO (Lady) eaxactly said that it is on the officers desk for them and my friends wife said that she did not get ti and can u please repeat the same and she said once again that it is on the officers desk and you will get the approval by mail once he approves.

Your PP stamp could be done in your new location

I have a friend whose case is in Phoneix but he did his PP stamping in San Diego. Maybe it belongs to the same center(CSC)?

EAD/LAyoff PLease help!!

Hi, I got my EAD card last week. My 180 days from filing my I-485 would be in Feb,2002. My project is getting over in Feb 2nd week.
What happens to my GC if I\'m fired after my project is over????
Someone please help!!
Thanx a lot in advance.

It took 3 weeks for me.

My case was assigned to an officer on 11/7 and approved on 11/28.
When I called IIO, they said that a decision will be made by the
officer in 30 days and it took exactly 3 weeks for me.

Don\'t worry about going back to SFO for stamping. You can get
it stamped at any INS office (as long as you have some proof of
your new address in that region).

Good luck and hope you get your approval soon.
