A Message To All The Silent Visitors
Day after Day you visit this site, like us, you too are anxious/hopeful/frustrated at the slow process on your greencard.

We see you visit here by the hits on the threads.....but we don't see you.

Like us, you too benefit from the hard work of the folks who are involved and who UNSELFISHLY give many many hours of their private time to help us all out here, so we have a feel/indication of what is going on.

Some of us don't have the talent or knowledge of these stars, however we all try to contribute in whatever way we can by being involved.

Yet you sit there on the sidelines.

Benefiting from all this hard work.

You take, but give nothing back in return.


You've also read the posts of many people here wishing you would contribute. Yet you resist and still sit on the sidelines.

But you say what can I do?..."

Maybe you can post your experiences or ask questions. No question is too trivial. On the contrary it will give an insight to possible pitfalls, queries etc etc.
The result >- everyone benefits. Thats what this forum is for.

I also used wonder at all these silent members signing off on their first post with the message "I have been a silent member but I benefitted from all the information on the site". When there are so many posts asking for October filers and September filers still waiting, these silent members do nothing. So why wake up from their deep slumber when the approval comes?

May be the administrator has to disable logins if they have not made a single post for "x" number of days ?

Oh, that is so undemocratic! Let them do what they want, people like us can continue helping each other, pouring our frustrations and distress, etc., etc.

It is better to be a silent visitor rather post TGIF's and other non immigration stuff that people post. Fine TGIF's are good but you loose the importance of what this forum is made of. Also those Congrats message. It just takes up time of people who expect some good information.

I am not being rude to people out there, just trying to rationalize the fact that first get the non-immigration topics out of here along with no importance Good Luck and Congrats messages.

And posting the fact my RD is April 2002 or May 2002 does no good since we all know it is Sept-Dec 2001 at work.

You must have guessed from above that I am a silent visitor who does post one message once in amonth when I have real information, not just post to get the thread on top and keep it alive..

Many a times, it sure was tempting to vent my thoughts (,frustrations ,and insights too).

But keeping the forum clear of clutter seemed more important.

I do not agree. Every thread has its subject line. If it is not interested to you, just ignore it. You don't have to go through every thread.

Regarding to congratulation messages, I do not think they are trivial. Please tell me, why we can not congratulate or convey our best wishes to some one who has been approved and share their information. What the rationale behind it??? Even they are silent visitors before, but they do break the silence.

More the number of non-immigration related messages the chances of the important pages moving to a next page are more. So the important ones might not be visible for too long.

But the main point is Rajiv Khanna created this for immigration benefits, not to share jokes. There are many other sites if you want to read jokes. If you manufacture shirts to wear and people use it to clean their TV sets I am sure you wonder what wrong did I do. Just becasue its free does not mean you abuse it.
Lot of credit goes to Rajiv for giving this to us. Lets use it the way he anticipated it.

As far as subject lines go, I guess you knew 50 percent of the subjects make no sense and it is difficult to provide the gist in 10 words.

As far Congrats go, we think some more info has come regrding the approval and all we end up seeing is Congrats/Good luck /Hope we get approved etc.

We all know it is great for ppl to be approved and everyone is happy about it. we do not have to emphasize that again and again - just wastes time.
