interview at LA, CA

Hi everybody
my case has been transferred to LA, CA office for interview ( message change took place yesterday 25th nov from RFE received to interview).
Can anyone give me an idea wat could be the reason ???/
I worked for company A which was acquired (taken over)
by Company B. So tecnically it is still company A. Send in all the
papers regarding the acquisition.
moved to KY(east) 1.5 yrs back, but maintained my LA address,
have family over there but my latest W2 and 1040 (2002)
show address of KY.

pay reduced by7% reflects in the paystub and letter of employment says
pay will be around the LC amount on approval.

Most important : How long does it take to get the Interview,....
1 mon, 2 mon or more i m sure there must be a lot of u in
my position.
and from the above situation wat could be the intervew about. mine is not
an AC21 case..... Cant figure out wat they want the interview about.

Any one recently had an interview in LA.... ur experience please....
Come on guys help me out here. Details please........

anybody........

please share your LA interview experiences,..... or others experiences u would know about. really appreciate some input.

Usually when a company you are working for is bought over, it is recommended that you file for AC21 and/or amended 140 and 485. That usually helps with RFE's.

It is unfortunate that your case has triggered off an interview request, but it is not unknown or unique. Usually, this is very routine and you should get scheduled for an interview within 3-4 months. There are a number of threads which discuss indepth interview questions and experiences. So you would be best advised to search the forums and look for those threads. In case you can't find any then please post here and I will try to help you look for the relavent posts as well.

Good luck!

minknowledge, nothing in AC21 specifies that you have to inform INS about a job change. AC21 "lets" you change jobs, but you are supposed to file AR11 to inform the department of homeland security, to keep your address updated. Again, the fax# that you send Ar11 into, doesn't update your address at INS, which speaks volumes at bush's plan to merge these organizations. (It's only been like eons since INS has been a part of DHS).

In my case, my CA address was the addy that mattered even when I moved here. Even with my new company (which operates in all 50 states), I put in my CA address. Not only that, that was really my address with my last name in front of the house.

About why you got an interview, usually center changes result in interviews. That seems to be the most logical explanation. But remember, thats reality and explaining "Why" wont' change it, so don't waste your time on that.

I know it's a pain in the ass to get an interview, versus an approval (ok it's not that bad, but still). But consider this ..

I could sit and crib about, why it took 2+ years for my 485, when folks with my WAC got approval almost a year back. They could sit and crib about people who got 485 approvals in 6 months. Those guys could crib about folks who were born here, and don't have to go thru all this. Folks who were born here, can crib about how foreigners come in and take their jobs away.

On the flip side, even with an interview, you are in a better situation than people who are stuck in their 140 stages, or labor stages. Those guys are better than h1 guys without a job, who are better than fresh college graduates in India, who have very little chance of making it here like we did.

I had written a thread a few days back saying, I've completed 2 years, and by god if it takes 20 more to get a GC, I am stubborn and determined to get my GC. If INS is playing tricks, I will prove who'se the boss here.

Well, your turn to prove who the boss is .. and in a lifetime of 80 years, 6 additional months won't matter.

So keep a positive atttiude, atleast you have EAD/AP, and you are right next to an approval.

Specifically information about LA interview, I had a few bookmarks on my Home PC, I will post them here today evening (hope I manage to come back home in some sort of decent time hehe).
