For High case numbers, 2014 vb will not show current at all.

I have a very high case number AS19XXX.

All the years' data before 2013 seems pretty much similar and only 2013 had very low cn because BANGLADESH was excluded in Asia. 2014 is exactly like 2013. So we should rely on 2013's data.

Based on raevsky's theory and 2013s data, there were actually only up to around 10,000 out of 16,000+ winners revealed because the highest case number was 9XXX. The rest selectees were hidden. And when time comes to current for all the people, almost everyone will have a chance for interview. Guess KCC just didn't want to disappoint people. That could also explain how come only half of people got GC but seems everyone in the forum got interviews at the end.

But KCC revealed all the winners this year, almost twice the last year's number, probably due to legal rational. That's why the case number can be so high this year. We the high number will be out of luck this year:( This year, the vb will not show current in the end.

Hope my understanding is wrong!!!!

Guys, one question please..
Are those CN numbers in consecutive order? I mean if suppose I am number 218, that means for sure there is also 217, 216, 215 etc, and so for sure there are 217 people in front of me in waiting list? Or these CN numbers can be somehow random as well?

No it doesn't. Some of those numbers preceding yours do not belong to a winner so it would be less than 217 people before you. At least that's how I understood that. I was wondering the same too but ur case number doesn't mean that that's the actual number of people waiting for a visa.

If the holes are created by the spouses and children of the winners, then yes, it that is the actual number of people waiting for a visa

hmm..i am confused..you mean if spouses or children of winners dont participate in green card processing now, then there will be holes? and now numbers are in consecutive order?

If you are the 2nd winner selected, and the one before you included the spouse and one kid in the entrant, your CN would be 4.

in that 50.000 available visa limit, does it also count each seperate visa for spouse and children or all the family counts as 1?
i mean is someone won and have spouse and 3 young children, it means 50.000-5 visas remained available?

All visas are separate amigo otherwise you'd have hordes of families getting green cards lol

Case No - DV2013AF0007XXXX (applied the first time and got it the first time - lucky me lol)
Entry Checked - 1st May 2012
Forms Sent To KCC - 10th May 2012
Received By KCC - 12th May 2012
Confirmation From KCC - 25th May 2012 after I sent them an email
2nd NL - Not Yet
Police Clearance - Not Yet
Medicals - Not Yet
Interviews - Hopefully in mid-August
Visa Pick up - Hopefully in mid-August
Port of Entry - New York JFK

In 50,000 each family member counts as one.
Holes are not because of family members, but because some preliminary checks after selection is done eliminate entries.

For instance:

'AS' 35 '2013AS35' 'Issued' 3 'ANK' Ankara, Turkey
'AS' 36 '2013AS36' 'Issued' 1 'KDU' Kathmandu, Nepal

AS000035 in DV-2013 has 3 family members, but number AS0000036 is a separate winner
If it were family members than 36 and 37 would be empty, but 36 is not empty

Moreover, look at this:

'SA' 1029 '2013SA1029' 'Issued' 4 'MTL' Montreal, Canada 1
'SA' 1031 '2013SA1031' 'Issued' 2 'CRS' Caracas, Venezuela 2
'SA' 1032 '2013SA1032' 'Issued' 1 'PTS' Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago 1
'SA' 1033 '2013SA1033' 'Administrative Processing' 1 'CRS' Caracas, Venezuela 1

or at this:

'SA' 1083 '2013SA1083' 'Ready' 3 'BGN' Bridgetown, Barbados 1
'SA' 1084 '2013SA1084' 'Ready' 2 'BNS' Buenos Aires, Argentina 1
'SA' 1085 '2013SA1085' 'Issued' 2 'TGG' Tegucigalpa, Honduras 1
'SA' 1086 '2013SA1086' 'Ready' 2 'LPZ' La Paz, Bolivia 1

Numbers are consequtive with more than 1 family member each

I can understand the stress/anxiety you guys are going through but trust me its not worth the stress/anxiety because the whole DV process is in no way in our control.

Yes indeed there is some form of anxiety because of the potential transition from one country to another and a change of life but the important thing is for you people to make sure you have all your major documents ready very early so you're not running around after getting your 2nd NL.

What should happen when you have your 2nd NL is only you saving up money and getting your police report and medicals out of the way and knowing that all other documents are ready.

Your paperwork and case numbers are all at the hands/mercy of the KCC and respective US Embassies so relax and take it as it comes and follow the visa bulletin for your case numbers.

Its a misconception that people with lower case numbers are guaranteed visas/Green Cards because there will be people that will go through, people that won't go through, multiple entries which are flushed out, fraudulent applications/bogus cases etc.

Some of us high case number selectees from Africa have gone through the same thing you have and now as we are hopefully approaching our interview months we realised we were worrying for nothing. We even thought that we'd never see a point where we'd be potentially interviewed but God is listening to everyone's prayers and if it doesn't happen then it wasn't meant to be, simple.

Please stay calm, and keep following the visa bulletin for October 2013 (next fiscal/DV year) and cross-check with all of us on the forum for any guidance/information you need as we are all in this journey together.

God Bless you all, keep the faith and all will be well or as I would say CHILL OUT lol

I do not understand what the purpose is for quoting yearbook. Are you trying to confirm my statement or are you trying to distance from it?
Otherwise what does it mean?

If you are not certain why you quoted yearbook, then read http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?554798-DV-lottery-FAQ
It is a brief overview of what junk entries are, how draw is conducted, what hidden entries are and where holes are from. As well as other non-traditional basics about DV lottery.

More calculations and estimates of max hidden number per Europe at http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?548736-Why-are-they-selecting-more-entries-on-oct-1st

Yearbooks give different type of statistics, they are not tied to one specidif DV program. They are for persons who enter US during a fiscal year, not get a visa during a fiscal year. So, that is a mix of 2 years of DV program.
Right statistics is on state department website.

this statment (For High case numbers, 2014 vb will not show current at all) is totaly wrong and all case number will be current be septmber

I did not say numbers are not going to be current. They could even be current. I am just saying numbers until certain borderline will get visas, and the rest will not. Some mix of numbers will be in September about the borderline.
