Dear All,

I'd just like to kindly ask on what is the likely future for those who are seeking a green card based solely on family ties and the immigration bill that is debated in senate right now.

With all that has happened in the senate, and together with all the debates, what is the likely future for all those who wants to seek a green card through their family ties.

Basically, my mom who has a green card, petitioned for me in early 2001.

It is now almost 7 years of waiting.

I'd just like to know what is going to happen to my case.

Thank you everyone for participating in my question thread.

Best and warmest regards as always.

Considering that the bill has just been withdrawn, I'd say not much is going to change in the next few days.

I would say years, 2009 at least, when a new president is elected and changes in the senate and house.....I see a backlash against republicans from latinos in next year elections.
