Daniel Huang is an immigration lawyer. I have seen this announcement by him on yahoo "namechecktracker" group.

"On March 7, 2007, Sen. Barack Obama (D. Ill.) introduced the
Citizenship Promotion Act, which deals specifically with the FBI name
check problem. Section 5 of the CPA requires the FBI to complete all
namechecks received from the USCIS within 90 days. CPA also authorizes
funding to the Attorney General so that the FBI can have the necessary
funding to meet the namecheck deadline.

Looks like politicians at the highest level are aware of the name check
problem and finally they are doing something about it."

could it be that finally with the change in the tone of the senate/congress from R to D maybe there's something done about this?

BTW, this bill also includes the same for applicants of PR.

I think this Bill is also for permanent resident applicants:

If you look at page 10 line 3 it says:

" In general.- With respect to a request submitted to the attorney General by the Secretary of Homeland Security for a background check on an applicant for temporary or permanent resident or citizenship of the US, the Attorney General shall make a reasonable effort to complete a background check on such applicant not later than 90 days after receives such request."

No freaking way this Bill is to pass either Senate or the House, mark my words.
Democrats are NOT our friends - all they care for are just those illegals, not honest, law abiding, hardworking tax paying people.
Look at Ed Kennedy - he is busy introducing yet another amnesty act - no word about us. Look at Mass. newly elected Governor Duval Patrick - he flies dozens of state DSS workers to Texas to talk to those detained illegals. Any help for us?
