Let's recap and see what we're gonna have:
Mine is a non-complicated case, I'm 30, Italian on H1B (third different employer, visa started in Oct 2003, previously one year on J1). My wife is 24 and a naturalized USC (came here with her family when she was 10 as a refugee from former USSR).
What we have (bona-fide marriage supporting docs):
- Joint lease (we've been living together since Dec 2005, 6 months before wedding)
- One joint credit card account (I added her on my Amex)
- Joint bank statements (I added her when we came back from honeymoon)
- Joint medical and dental insurance (through my employer)
- Papers showing she's the solely beneficiary of my 401k and life insurance (knocking on wood right now)
- Boarding passes and hotel receipts for nine trips we took together (including honeymoon and recent trip to the Caribbean this Labor's Day)
- Air tickets our tenth trip to St.Maarten for this coming Thanksgiving (also, for the IO...I have no AP, please stamp my passport
)
- Hundreds of pictures, including wedding reception in Italy with some 40 people that flew from the US (we officially got married in Manhattan City Hall 8 days before that, thanks to huge Italian burocracy)
- Wedding invitation and wedding cards that guests gave us at reception
Other required docs:
- Original marriage certificate
- My Italian passport with three J-1 and one H-1B visa stamps and I-94 (different from the one I originally submitted because we traveled on Labor's Day), her US passport.
- My original birth certificate with translation authenticated by Italian Consulate in NYC.
- Her original USSR birth certificate with translation by someone in Brighton Beach (we still have to do this).
- Her original certificate of naturalization.
- My EAD
- Previous I-129 approved for my H1 visas.
- Our NYS driver's licenses (both same address)
PS: Copies of all of above.
