FOIPA Response !!!

I got the following response from FBI for my FOIPA. I understand that the first sentence means that I am not anywhere in the systems but WHAT does the second paragraph mean ????


"A search of the automated indices to our central records system files located no records at FBI Headerquarters responsive to your FOIPA request.

Although no records responsive to your FOIPA request were located in our automated indices, we are required to inform you that you are entitled to file an administrative appeal if you so desire. Appeals should be directed in writing to the Co-Director, office of Information and Privacy, US Department of Justice, Suite 570, Flag Building, DC. The envelope should be marked 'Information Appeal' -- WHY WOULD I NEED TO DO THIS ?

I thought if the message was "no records" then one should be safe, so why would I file an administrative appeal and for what would I file one ?

I'm confused - Any help ???

how did you come to know that your name check is pending since 03/09/05 ? called VSC ?

Whose number is it? FBI? Do they pick up the phone and answer your questions about status? I'm sorry that I'm asking so many questions, but you know how anxious we all are. This stupid FBI name check crap is aggravating the misery of whole GC process. :mad:

Where did you file your case? VSC or CSC?
That 949 number is for CSC, right? Do you know the number for VSC?

Hopefully your name check should be cleared soon. 'No Records' means you are of no interest to FBI. Try writing a letter to David Hardy asking for the status on name check clearance.

Yes its for CSC, if the guy is nice he will let u know about your case, i had a rude guy a few times, but once i was lucky to get a nice guy !

I don't of course know if he lied, but I just assume that he had access to all cases and NOT just VSC - Didn't seem like he lied tho
