FOIA request

Hi jigesh

No.. my senators office didnt ask about it. When I aked my lawyer if we can know the reason behind my case transfer from VSC to Houston local office, then he told me that we can order a copy of the FOIA. What way is it useful to the case?? My lawyr charges $500 for this application. Dunno if its really worth it spending the money for the FOIA. Please advice.

PS: My lawer is not Julie Sonimen....

Thanks.

It's a personal choice. If your case is too complicated, then FOIA may help you prepare documents in advance for the interview. Else, the interview letter will say what to bring (though better to carry each and every document that you have).

Best wishes,

Jigesh

FOIA is free...

FOIA is free. .. your lawyer doesn't need to get that.

I think he might have told you that he can ask for reason under FOIA regulation and he might be charging for drafting a letter etc..

If you think you can draft a letter, you should do it yourself...

Did you try to talk to IIO first ? What was his/her answer?
If it's BCIS's mistake, IIO upon realizing can inform appropriate authority withing BCIS.
