There are many issues. CP at that stage is not too fast - by the time your CP interview comes, you might already get AOS interview.

Also, if your I-140 was originally approved for CP and then you did AOS; and now wants to go for CP at the transfer stage, attorney certified I-140 won't do (thought it's upto the discretion of concerned consular post) and must re-start the NVC process. I-824 will take too much time if your I-140 was originally approved for AOS.

So my opinion in short is "not worthwhile." However this is not an easy issue and there are many implications invloved like you must not be out of status ever and must have the same job for CP (no AC21), etc.. So consult your attorney if you are serious about CP - don't merely rely on answers you might get here.
