First time H1 stamping in Chennai Consulate

I came here on F1 visa. I got my H1 last year.
I am planning to go to India in December.

1) What is the procedure for getting first time H1 stamping(drop Box or Interview)?

2)People are saying there might be a technical interview during the stamping.. Is it true??
