Anyone else have their fingerprints done here? How is it done? Just wait, get called, show your id, get fingerprinted?
Is there more to it?

Anyone not done here is welcome to input too!

I'll answer my own question if anyone else is interested. I arrived for my 1pm appointment at 12.40pm. There was a woman at a desk at the door. She asked for my appointment letter and my Green Card. She asked to see my hands - both sides. She asked if I had a phone and I told her I left it in the car. Then I had to fill out a 1 page document with name, address, A# etc. She gave me a number even though there was only one other person waiting. There were about 75 chairs.

After about 10 minutes a man came and called both me and the other person. We went behind a half wall in the same room - it's all in one large room. He did mine first. He put a lotion on my hands and asked me to rub it in. Then he did my thumb, then 4 fingers together on one hand, then the other hand. Then he did each of the 4 fingers on each hand individually. He put each finger down and push it from one side to the other to get a full print. As they're being done it comes up on the screen if it was a valid print. He re-did one of my fingers. They'e done on a glass plate not classic black ink on paper thing. At the end he gave me a civics book. It just has the usual 96 questions with answers and explanations and an audio CD.

I know it's a detailed explanation for a simple process, but hey - I'm excited. It feels like it's really happening now!:)

Just wait

It gets even more exciting with the name check game starts......lol.

I hope you don't have to go thru that and you get your IL soon.

Good luck.

Thanks Atlanta brother. Yeah - I've been looking at people's troubles with name checks. Looks like a bunch of fun!
"Match" came up on the screen a few times for my prints - I hope it's matching to me!

Fingerprints tomorrow

Thanks Chirl for the detail information. I have my FP tomorrow and was wondering how the process would be. Your posting gave me a good insight.
