Fingerprints quality?

What can we do to make sure our fingerprints were satisfactory and that we are not going to have to do it again due to the poor quality.

What is satisfactory number? 65? Should we point out to the person taking fingerprints if we are not satisfied with quality?

I see that many are calling FBI to check are their fingerprints cleared. What is the point of having this info? In the case that fingerprints are not cleared they will send notice again – correct? I mean, we can’t do anything in any way. It is all up to them.

The fingerprint technician will determine if the print quality is sufficient via the scanner software. If the scanner repeatedly reports too low of quality, you will then be asked to take ink fingerprints instead. Some people (ex: farmers, nurses, mechanics) have rough hand skin and their prints are more difficult to read. Unless you had issues in the past with your fingerprints (think about when you were fingerprinted for green card) , you really shouldn't be worrying about quality. If you do have rough skin and had problems with your prints in past, some people suggest using hand lotion for several days before your FP appointment to get better FP quality.
People have been calling about the status of their FP check with he FBI out of curiosity. There's little you can do if the FBI tells you that the quality is too bad to read but wait for a new FP appointment from the USCIS.
