Fingerprints not received by FBI after 2.5 weeks - Please advise

I had my fingerprint done in Alexandria VA (Fairfax DO) on 10/23/2009. I called FBI today to check on the status and was informed that they have never received the fingerprints until now.

Is it normal not to have received the fingerprints after 2.5 weeks? I read in an earlier post that the prints are either sent the same day or a few weeks later. Is it true and if so, how many weeks would it take? Is there a USCIS number that I can call to find the status?

Any help/advise greatly appreciated

My spouse also did prints the same day and same issue too. Could it be possible that both of our prints were bad? They marked on the FP notice that all prints were good.

Could be both were of poor quality. Give it another week and call back FBI. If they still haven't received FP, call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and request to speak with an IO to figure out what's going on.

I even stopped by at Alexandria DO but they wouldnt help me much. Said they did FP..now its up to the system...asked me to call 1800. Its so frustrating!!!

When I called FBI, they asked me to check with local office,
Alexandria DO,
as there is no local#, I was planning on going to the local office,
since you have already done that I don't know what else to do,
any ideas ...

Maybe you should go and see what happens. I went on a Tuesday when they were a little busy.

Wow, so its just not me alone then. So many people having issues with Alexandria office fingerprints. Please keep us updated if you see any change in status when you call FBI.

Be patient. Give them time to process your case. I do not get why people are calling FBI the next day or next week to inquire, I can see a concern if you waited for 2 or 3 months. Not sure what will you do after you learnt that FBI processed your finger prints. Call USCIS every day to find out if your are lined up for interview.

Most of the issues i noticed
Applying 90 days before 5 year waiting period
Then trying to walk in finger printing
Get interview before 5 years
Start worrying, when USCIS say they cannot make a decision
Then loose sleep till you get oath letter

Stop worrying and let it take it own pace. Everything will be fine.

wait 3 months?? nicee! Look its easier said than done. most of the times, if you are not proactive about your case..your case just hangs there! We have been waiting 2.5 weeks for our FP to be submitted..usually its automatic!

Most of us are IT workers and know that a small bug can cause this. So nothing bad in following up as to whats going on....IF ITS HAPPENING TO MORE THAN ONE PERSON at the same DO!!

wantmygcnow,
In most of the DOs, most of the people are getting their YL or IL after 5 to 8 weeks of FP. You probably should wait for 5 weeks before worrying. If it is like 6 weeks after FP then try calling FBI and USCIS. For me, it took almost 6 weeks before I received my YL after FP. I didn't receive my IL yet.
So, be patient.

Can you check when your FP were cleared/received by the FBI?

I think all FP taken at support center are uploaded every evening and a network or internet connection problem could possibly cause this..

I called FBI two weeks after my FP and they said they never received it, so I called USCIS and they said that they were waiting for FBI to send the result. After few days, I emailed FBI and they said that my finger prints were received, processed and sent back to USCIS a day ago (so they actually got my finger prints almost 2 weeks after I had my FP taken.) This was the same case with couple of other folks as well.
