Fingerprints for EAD and I-485

I received my NOAs for my I-765 and 485 today telling me to phone to make an appointment for fingerprinting and biometrics.

The best that they could do is Aug 3. Is that normal? Does it usually take that long???

Also, does this mean I won't get my EAD until after Aug 3???

It entirely depends on where you are going for FP. I had mine done in st paul and my appointment was done within 3 days of my call. I called on wednesday and I got FP done on saturday of same week.

Also, does this mean I won't get my EAD until after Aug 3???

Probably.EAD processing usually takes atleast 3 months. EADs can be approved without fingerpriting done. In you case, It shouldnt really matter as you will still be waiting for EAD, while u go for fingerprinting.

I got FP the very next day, they had a opening and i got lucky. But i have been waiting for my EAD card every since. I got my FP done in feb 2004 and have been waiting for EAD card since. So Good Luck!!!!!
 
I actually called the 1-800 number again and got an appointment at the st albans (VT) office this coming week...that seems a little more reasonable.

Does my wife have to come to this as well???
 
I dont think it's a problem

I got the same notice within less than a month after we submitted i130/I-485. It said to schedule an appointment by calling the 1-800 ..
They gave me the first available date and hour at Pittsburgh ASC.
It really depends on the availability of the centers I believe.
And I guess you should be happy, because there are cases witing for a year or 2 after submission to be FP.
