Fingerprints Check Resubmitted

I did my my finger prints at the local ASC on 09/16, it was originally scheduled for 09/27. Did a walk-in due to work and travel.

It's been almost a month, I called the fingerprint customer service number and they stated that the original was done and completed and sent back within 48 hours. The USCIS resubmitted it again on 10/05 and was completed immediately. It is a usual occurance and under what circumstances does this happen?

What is the number for finger print customer service? How do one know when your results are back? I did my finger print 3 weeks ago and did not hear any thing, should I call and to inquire about it and whom?
