I can file my application on 05/01, but I will go for vacation from middle June till middle July and I am concerned about missing my FP appointment. Will it help if I enclose a note '"Please don't schedule my appointment between ... and ..." ?
Also - how many days does it take to get RD (Receipt Date) after mailing the application? (fews days?)

It differ from case to case, mine after one week and the FP date was exactly one month from mailing I-485, my wife also exactly one month. It may come after months, no one knows. So, go to your vaccation and enjoy it and if you missed your appointment just walk in with the notice.
