Fingerprinting - what the on-screen info. means?

Gurus,

I just returned from FP. The person called her supervisor at the end of the process. When I enquired (of her) if there was a problem, she said she was not sure abt the 'quality'. I don't know if that is true (what she just said), or if she was masking a concern. I noticed that the screen flashed "Match" EVERYTIME, and the scores ranged in the 50's for my right hand, and low 60's for my left hand. Can anyone shed light on what the results mean?

Thanks for any inputs.

My speculation:

If you recall, you can remmeber each of yoru finger is printed twice,
one seprately and one as part of whole hands. The qualifty is measured by
matching of two prints on teh same finger. 100 means perfect match and 50
is in the middle. Usually they should be 60-80. 50 may be a little low so the
technician was concerned.

Thanks, WBH. I read your many posts on the forum, and appreciate your inputs to those in need.

Are you sure that is what was meant by "match" - that ANYBODY that goes for FP will see a "Match" (followed by a score)? My q is pointed because I have an arrest record (from 2005) - I was charged with "Reckless Driving" (final disposition being Civil speeding)

Finally, do my reported scores sound like my N-400 application process might stall? (I sure hope not - that, really is my anxiety!)

Thanks, again.

This "match" has absolutely nothing to do with any match with FBI database.
It is just match between two samples taken at your FP appointment to assess quality.

Yes everybody sees Match/Match Warning and a score for their FPs. Its to give the ASC technician feedback during the process.

I don't think the scores have anything to do with your app, all that matters is the FP is that the quality of the image is sufficiently readable by the FBI so they can do the background check etc.

Thanks, TexToBe. I appreciate your feedback.

So, do my reported scores sound 'unsatisfactory', or out of the norm (based on what you might know)?

Good luck for your interview on Monday!

It is a little low than average. You can call FBI hotline in West Virginia in 2 days. They will tell you if the results are sent back to USCIS. There is controversy here about what FBI meant when they said "the results
are sent back to USCIS". Does it mean FP are good quality and
search is done? or include the "not readable" results?

Thanks, WBH. I appreciate it. I will call the FBI next week and enquire if the print-quality was adequate.
