Fingerprinting related FAQs - Attn Joyd

I have got my FP notice a month ago, but my wife did not get the nocie yet. My FP is scheduled for Aug 25. I was reading the FAQ's about finger printing in http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=123975

It stats that,
Q-1:What if I have been scheduled but my spouse and/or children have not been scheduled?

The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (“BCIS”, the new
name for INS) uses a national scheduler computer generated system to
schedule fingerprint appointments and it is possible that not all
family members will be scheduled at the same time. We recommend that
you wait and see if the appointment notices for your spouse and /or
child(ren) arrive in the mail before your appointment date. If they do
not, we suggest that your family members accompany you to the
appointment. It is possible that the BCIS Application Support Center
(ASC) will agree to take their fingerprints on the same day even though
they do not have appointment notices. Be sure to take the I-485 receipt
notices, photo identification (e.g., passports) and evidence of
relationship (e.g., birth or marriage certificate) for family
dependents with you. If ASC refuses to take the prints and/or your
family members have still not received appointment notices for their
own fingerprints, please contact our office and we will begin the
inquiry process to have them scheduled.

Do you (Joyd or anyone)know where this info came from. If it is mentioned in USCIS website, i am thinking of taking a print out of it and going to local office with my wife to give FP (even though she did not receive the notice yet)

Any comments please.

Thanks

I haven't gone through the FP process yet, sorry can't be of much help here, others who know about it pls help out our friend!

I am not sure if the that FAQ came fromn the USCIS website. But what it says is true. If your spouse did not receive the FP notice, you can still take her with you and they may fingerprint her at the same time as you. It is worth giving a try any way, otherwise you have to wait for her notice to arrive.

Will be there,

Last month I did the same way, since my wife who is beneficiary applicant got FP2 but I did not get. I requested officer to give me a written notice.
With out much discussion she issued me a written notice.

All the best.

I would suggest check with your lawyer also, if he/she would have got the FP notices for you both. Because in my case we got notice for my wife but my lawyer got it for both. Later on it came out that my notice was delayed in the mail since we moved recently.

Fp2 question

I called to USCIS and updated my address last month.Today I came to know that My Attorney received FP2 for me but I did not receive it .
Can you tell me When are they going to update my address and what needs to be done

no lawyer

PremChopra:
Thanks for your reply. I do not have a lawyer and 485 was applied by me.. so, that question is ruled out... I also moved recently. actually my FP notice sent to my old address and got forwarded.. and my wife H4 extension went to our old address and got forwarded.. anyway on FP scheduled date, we both are planning to appear and try convincing the Immigration agent.. lets hope it works out.. Also I do not think the ASC i am going to will be crowded. (it is York, PA).
