My spouse received her fingerprinting notice for her I-485/I-765 today. The FP is in less than 2 weeks. The notice says applicant must bring a passport, driver's license or state-issued photo id.

She changed her last name after marriage and her passport is with Indian Consulate in NY for getting a new one in new name. It is unlikely the new passport will be available in time for the FP day.

She has a driver's learners permit in her new name and her SS card in the new name. Will that work or is the passport absolutely required?

We don't want to reschedule the FP as most likely it will delay the AOS application by a long time.

What to do???

If the learners permit has her photo ID she'll be OK.

Did she apply for the I-485 in her new name? Is the fingerprint notice in her new name? If not, that means she is changing her name after the I-485 process began and that could cause some delays and confusion with USCIS. If the fingerprint notice is in the old name, she would have to bring the marriage certificate to explain the name change.
