Fingerprinting for EAD renewal..

Hi everyone,
I want to apply for my wifes EAD (3rd renewal  ) myself . My renewal fees is covered by my office but my wifes isn't ...will cost about 350$ otherwise, so just trying to save a few bucks...

A couple of questions that I have:
1) Does she need to have her Fingerprint taken? The reason I ask this is, in the prevous 2 EAD applications (done thru my lawyer ) a fingerprint was never required ?

2) Our 2nd FP for I-485 was due 2-3 months (1st FP expired after 15 months) back but we have got no notice for that till date. I observed in this forum that many are in the same situation like mine. BCIS may be trying to save a few bucks on the processing and labour of taking a 2nd FP. Does 'this in any way' by the remotest possibility.... mean that our approvals may be near?

3) If the above is true, isn't my wife's FP for EAD going to slow down their enthusiasm. (ie, I beleive the BCIS is processing some cases faster becoz' their 2 nd FPS are due and they don't want to take the 2nd FP). So if her FP for EAD is taken and their database updated then BCIS might just decide to dump in our files to ...'see you after 2 more years' basket!

4) What do you suggest...should I go for my wifes EAD thru my lawyer or should I file it myself. Obviously my first priority is getting the GC as soon as possible and the second priority is saving bucks! Pls. give your thoughts , experiences and inputs to this.

5) How long is it taking to get the EAD renewal done---
- Thru lawyer
- By sending it myself

Forgive me if my questions are idiotic..BCIS has made me a dummy!
Thanks a lot!

----------------- If you are sending her EAD renewal papers to USCIS by mail then no need of fingerprints
----------------- Before I-485 approval you will get your second fingerprint notice if first FP were done 15 months back
3) If the above is true, isn't my wife's FP for EAD going to slow down their enthusiasm. 4) What do you suggest...should I go for my wifes EAD thru my lawyer or should I file it myself?
---------------- You can file her EAD renewal directly, she has to fill up form I-765 and she has to sign the form, attach copy of I-485 filing receipt, copy of current EAD (both sides) 2 photographs , copy of marriage certificate, Top sheet that she got with her earlier EAD, USCIS fees check $120 mail it to your service center. If service center is NSC then also attach color copy of her driving license or state ID and color copy of her first page of passport that has her photograph, name, DOB, send the envelope to service center and out side the envelope write in big bold letters FORM: I-765 for EAD renewal
Obviously my first priority is getting the GC as soon as possible and the second priority is saving bucks! Pls. give your thoughts , experiences and inputs to this.

5) How long is it taking to get the EAD renewal done---
- Thru lawyer
------------------Why waste they money? Lawyer is NOT going to get you EAD early
-by sending it myself
-------------------- Same time, you send directly or through lawyer, it may take 2-4 months and depends on service center. Always file EAD ,AP 5-6 months advance
