Fingerprinting before scheduled date

Folks,

I received my fingerprint notice yesterday. I cannot make it on the scheduled date .. can I go (walk-in) before the scheduled date? Please advise.
 
Show up and see if they will accept you. If you call they will usually say No. They make decision whether to accept a walk-in on a day-to-day, moment-to-moment basis according to how busy they are. So they won't tell you Yes on the phone, as they don't know exactly how busy they will be when you show up an hour later or the next day. You just have to go there and see what happens.
 
MY FP was scheduled for Dec 21st. Went to Application Support Center in Woodside, Queens, NY on Dec 16th. They did not allow me to fingerprint 5 days in advance. I explained that I was traveling on Dec 21st and that's why I came in early. They asked me to produce travel itinerary as proof of travel .. which I did not have. so, I came back and will now go to the ASC on Dec 21st. Have changed travel plans.

Another interesting comment - they said that if you dont turn up for FP on the scheduled date, your appointement gets automatically extended for 87 days.

:-) do read your fingerprint appointment letter again.

The Fingerprint appointment should be for <a date> or any <day of week> after that until <a specific date about 3 months out>
