fingerprint rescedule?

I am an EB3 applicant. 485 RD was 06/15/2004, and priority date is mid 2003. I received my 2nd finger print notice (my lawyer is sending to me).

It is for Aug 2nd, which is next week. I am trying to keep my options open
as far as bringing a spouse from india is concerned. Therefore I want the 485 process to take a little longer.

I was thinking of getting my FP date rescheduled to a later date. Given how close Aug 2nd is, does this sound like a good idea? how would I go about doing this?

Also, if I go for the FP now based on my priority date(Mid 2003), and EB3, any estimates of when I could expect a RFE for 485, or a 485 approval for that matter??

Thanks in advance to all the gurus out there!

You don't need to reschedule. From the date, any of the following mention day you can go for finger printing within 3 months. They will give the expiry date also. Please check the expiry date.

My suggestion is, don't delay to get marry. Some time 485 will get approval before you go for finger printing.

fp notice

The fp notice doesn't give an option to reschedule within 3 months. I guess there is couple of different types of notices around. The one I have just asks me if I want to reschedule. If I do reschedule, then tick on one of next available wednesday, or next available saturday.

Thanks

Hi guest1978:

If you want to reschedule, go ahead but remember it would delay your I-485 processing. Also, the new FP notice may take anywhere from 1-3 months to come.

One way around this dilemma is to currently reschedule your FP, but keep a copy of the original notice. Once your situation resolves, you can still go to your ASC and get fingerprinted based on the copy of the original FP notice. You do not need an original notice to get fingerprinted as long as you have a clear copy of the original notice with the barcode. I was in a similar situation and got fingerprinting done with the copy of the original FP notice.

The situation is that any progress on my case won't be made anyway until the dates become available(earliest October), and if I was to reschedule then there is no knowing when they would give me a date. Could be a month from now, or could be 2 months from now. If it's before October, then it wouldn't help me because my cases wouldn't have moved anyways.

But the notice doesn't give me an option of saying which month i want the FP to be in.. Also, my address changed. though i submitted a AR11, they never picked up the new address for AOS, and therefore i got this notice from my old company lawyer(i switched jobs using AC21). The new notice would again most likely go to the old lawyer, so that's another variable here..this stuff is never straightforward..

what do you think?

thanks
Nik

I am an EB2 applicant and have recently received a biometrics notice CODE 2. This notice was received while I was not in the country (after 07/19) and the stated appointment time is 08/02 around 2:00pm. I am returning on 08/02 but only by 4:35pm. I have read in this thread that I can go any Wednesday or Saturday before the expiry date whereas some others say to reschedule. I hardly have the time and 'am struggling here to prepone my ticket which is nearly impossible due to the rains in Mumbai. Can someone please advise what can be done. I'd really appreciate your response.

Thanks

your best bet is to reschedule, have a friend send the letter for you. make sure you send the request via fedex before the date. this way you have written proof of your request before the fp date.
