Our fingerprints were taken over 17 months ago but I haven't received any notice yet, to retake them. Is this normal? Do I wait for a notice from them or is there something I should to get it expedieted? Thanks.

yeah, it's normal
They said that when it is time to finally adjudicate a petition, they'll see that you need FP, and they'll issue an FP notice

fingerprinting by

gb04,

If you expect that your case could be approved within the next 15 months, I would urge you to try fingerprinting even without the notice. How? Please check the recent thread "case approved" posted by a username "flyer010" in the following forum: I-485 Issues > 485 Issues in California Service Center". The posting is on the first page of the above-mentioned forum. Good luck! :)

Freemann,
That case you mentioned in CSC was very circumstantial. I had infopass sometimes in July, when my FP was expired for a month. The Lady-officer said: "wait, we will send you new FP when it will be required" and similar answer I got by calling to VSC: "wait".

Second FP recieved

I recieved second FP(code-1) on Spet-23. It was exactly 15 months ago we did our first FP. I read on this forum some one saying finger prints expire every 15months. On safe side you better call VSC as there are cases where finger prints sent but never recieved by reciepient.

Since I have been hearing that my case is pending for back ground check, I took Infopass appointment on Sep., 11 to confirm the customer reps answers. The officer confirmed my Name check is pending. However, she asked me to go for Finger Prints as my earlier FP was already expired. She printed appointment letter for FP right away. I did my second FP on 9/23. This all happened at Boston.
