Fingerprint postponment?

I am afraid my fingerprint notice will show up when I am outside the country. can I do them at later time? will that affect in anyway my N-400 application?

If your ASC is near enough, I'll suggest going there and directly asking them if they allow post/pre walk-ins or not. Incidentally, I just posted a very similar experience a few min ago. You can check out that thread.

Once you receive the FP letter, you can always reschedule by mail (long) or go to the ASC center to attempt a walk in. If you do your FP later it may delay your application, but not significantly.

Sent in my N-400 Thursday 04-17, I am guessing it will be another 3 months before I get FP letter which it will be fine by me. I am just hoping they will not send it in the next 2 monts.

Your above estimate sounds risky to me. Going by recent posts, most applicants - across all DOs/SCs - seem to be getting their FP letter in about 2-3 weeks from the date their N-400 is received, with the FP appoinment in about 8-10 days from the date of the FP letter.
I'll suggest you look up some posts from your DO/SC people to get a fair time estimate. Based on the mailing date you have provided, it sounds like you should be getting the FP letter in the first week of May with the actual FP being around mid-May. But this is just my guess.
