Fingerprint only at stamping?

Please explain:

is there another finger print during the passport stamping?

What is the point then of the finger prints done during I-485 adjudication?

Why do not they just send all files to local ofices and fingerprint people when they are receiving their passport stamp.

This would help with the backlog tremendously.

Please somebody explain this to me.

Michal.

yes there is another FP..

the point of FP for 485 is for FBI to provide a clearance or maybe to put in the nations FP file..

i dont think the backlog is due to finger printing procedure..its cuz there rn't enough ppl working on these cases..service centers dont do much with FP..they only look for clearance from FBI (they usually finish this in a day)..once they receive clearance, they put a check mark in their list..and wait for the day they think the file is worth opening..

if they do what u r suggesting..then u might have to go one day for FP (once u get the approval notice)....come back after few days to get ur passport stamped..

FP - I485 and stamping

During 485, they take print of all fingers from end to end for background verification done by FBI.

during stamping, they only take the index finger print as an identification on the card. They just want things to be latest (as if the finger print changes...???).
