I am sorry i have no answer for your question. I have not yet recieved any notification fron INS since i filed I-485 RD 12/98 i am among those who are patiently still waiting in the cue.Good luck.

I have the same question posted by goodoljack. Hopefully, test 1001 will read this post and answer back.
I went to the support center today for the FP. Everything pretty straight forward.
I believe that in between the FP notice and receiving the GC there is an appointment for passport stamping, photos, etc not reported by test 1001. But I am not sure, honestly.
Our best hope to know the actual procedure, is Jack posting his approval experience.
