Hi All,
I have to say I really appreciate the Genius who started this site and forums.
I have a question and will appreciate feedback from anyone..... I noticed most applications take anywhere from 30-40 days to go from received status to FP schedule and completion. I sent my app to Dallas in september and it was recd around 20th Sept, but I did not get my FP notice until 22nd October and the actual FP is scheduled for 17th Nov. Does anyone have an idea why my FP is taking about 60 days to completion?
I had to call them after 30 days to remind them that I haven't received a FP notice.
Thanks in Advance.

Dallas might have more cases than they can handle, so they stretch the time frame, to make you are served within what is practical from their stand-point. For example, if you lived in Buffalo, NY, you could complete your N400 process within 45 days, because their office is small and not many immigrants can deal with the atrocious weather up-state. Even yours truly, passed on an opportunity to attend RIT.

Ah! Thanks for the quick response... It just bothered me becuase I noticed in some of the forums, there are applications sent to same office(Dallas) within a few days of mine, that have their FP scheduled and completed already. Mine is still almost a month out - I wonder if it's because I was a resident Asylee.

No problem. Patience is key when dealing with USCIS. Look at this from this angle, what if those people whose cases seem to be processing very fast, and only to be get stuck after the interview. On the other side, on your case, you could be moving at a snail's pace, but you could get to the interview phase, pass and be told to wait for your oath letter and be sworn in within a week or two. So, faster processing doesn't always convert into a quick outcome, but we all like to complete the process soon. Just stay put and all will be well.

The posted processing time in Dallas is 5 months. Not sure if that is from filing to interview or filing to oath, but either way, getting a FP notice in just about one month seems right on track.
