Finger Printing & Background Checks

I appreciate any help answering this question for me:

I got my gc through immigration court and I was fingerprinted and checked by ICE and during court which lasted more than 2 years. I have clean record.

Now I am filing my n-400 and my question is: Is the background checks done here different or is it the very same?

Thanks for the help...

The background check may have changed slightly since last time but probably not much. You get fingerprinted and they check that against the FBI and DHS records and they do a name check via various sources and those include foreign databases as well (like Interpol, and certain other individual countries through agreements).

If you have something out there, it will likely be found. If not, it is just another procedural step along the way.

Thanks BigJoe for the help answering my question. I appreciate your help. Just wanted to find out why some applicants had to wait long time for clearances.
