Finger print notification

I-485 ND - 07/03 and still have not received the FP notification. Anybody in the same boat?

Also, I am planning to travel in February and will be out of US for a month. If I receive notification during this month to appear for the finger print, will it be an issue if I don't appear? Can I come back and appear in another date? What are the alternatives? Your ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

your journey has just begun. I filed in 2002 and just got finger printed last month. There is no logic other than random number generation defining issuiance of FP notices.
 
I think in general they will issue FP notice knowing that your case will be looked/processed within 15 months. FP is only good for 15 months and if your case is not processed with that time frame, you will be re-FPed (like many many of us) and I think BCIS is really trying to avoid that now. That might explain why you haven't get the FP notice yet. In case you receive your notice right before your travel date, you sometimes can go to the FP place and request an earlier FP depends on which city you live. Some place will do that for you, some place won't. Make sure talk to a supervisor while you are there and explain why you need to get it done sooner than the appointment date. Or you always call to reschedule the FP appointment. The number will be provided on your notice for you to do so. Hope this helps.
 
I don't think there is any logic in INS. My ND is 04/01/03 and I got my FP notice on 04/16/03 and got it done on 05/16/03. So far it has been good for me. However I do realize that I don't see my GC in atleast next 18 month's horizon and if anything I have learnt to just sit tight and not be too worried.
 
My ND/RD were in May 03 and i havent recd FP notices. A couple of my friends, whose ND/RD is Early May 03, also did not receive. Looks like they stopped issuing FP notices from May 03 onwards
(just my guess based on circumstantial evidence).
 
Re- FP Notice.

Hi,
I received a second FP notice as my FP expired. Does the Atty get a copy as well?
