Hello everyone:

I have a question on Finget print notice and out of USA? We are planning to go outside USA for about a month and I was wondering where there is process to let USCIS to know that we are going to be outside USA and cannot attend Finger print appoinment if it is sent during that time period. Anyone has experience/advise/suggestion on this please shed some light.

Thanks much in advance -Good day!

2007, There are a bunch of options for your case.
1] If you receive your FP notice before you leave, take the notice and request the ASC to take the FP in advance.
2] If you receive your FP while you are outside the country and the FP appointment dates are prior to you coming back, you can request your lawyer to seek for extension. You will have to keep your lawyer in the loop. If the date of FP appointment is after your scheduled return date then no need to worry.

As i said keep your lawyer in the loop. Do not rely on him 100%. Ask your friends to keep an Eye on the mail box for FP notices. This is just my suggestion. It is better to check with your lair as always. GoodLuck.

The first option did not work in my area ASC, they refused to do it before the scheduled date.

The second option worked for me, my lawyer rescheduled the date of my bio,
although she said sometime they do not send copy of the appointment to lawyers (only to applicant) in this case your lawyer can not be aware of the apointment to be rescheduled.

Thanks much both of you. I just talked to my attorney's office and she said she will take care of it if it shows up when I am outside USA. Hopefully my 131 gets approved soon than I could make some plan - it has been 7 years I do not go back home!

Hi All,
Any idea once we apply for the extension/another date for the biometric appointment, within how many weeks/months we'll get the next notice for the date on fingerprinting appointment.

I'm asking this because, say if someone is visiting India for 6 weeks and right before leaving he/she got the fingerprinting/biometric appointment and they send it back (as the appointment date is once they are gone) with request for extension/another date, what if they send it back with new appointment date within say next 10 days and fingerprinting due say 15 days once the letter is received (which normally the case is), which makes it 25 (15+10) from the day person left and he may NOT be back again within the timeframe to go for the fingerprinting appointment.

Can we keep rescheduling it????

pls. shed some light on this, anyone with any personal experience like this?

thanks.

reschedule your FP. I was successful in rescheduling FP for almost an year.

word of caution: FP is done for namecheck with FBI which in itself takes hell lot of time..if you are delaying the FP process, you are in effect delaying your chances of getting GC sooner....you are responsible in part for the delay. Just my 2 cents of suggestion
