Yesterday, more than 10 people from this forum representing all the service centres (VSC/NSC/CSC/TSC) had a conference call for TWO long hours. When we booked the conference call, we never thought that we will get so much response. But it turned out to be a big meeting and we have discussed all possible options and also discussed about our organisational strategies. I am briefly mentioning the high lights of the meeting :
*)we have felt that the most important thing is to lobby the congress men to introduce bills to help reducing the backlog quickly
*)It is felt that we need the hire a professional lobbyist to work for us. For that we need a lot of money. We hope that all of you will come up with good contributions when we start the fund collection (Just waiting for the word 'GO' from Rajiv)
*) We need more people to share the work load and contact the congress men in every state. So we need more vounteers. Those who want to join the fight, please let us know in the "who want to be action team" thread (or) just post a reply in this thread
*) We are now going to form the following committees among us :
Campaign committee(to bring more people into the fight and fund collection) , Legislative committee (to prepare / refine the congressional petition), Legal committee (to explore the possibility for legal action against BCIS), Bills introducing team (to identify which of the current bills are related to immigration benefits and also to identify which congress men are likely to introduce and co-sponsor the bills for us).
In addition to the se committees, we will have the main co-ordination committee, which is responsible for planning and co-ordination amongst all the volunteers.

So please take part in these activities and fight for your own cause.

Thanks dsatish for the positive steps in gathering personnel to lobby for a great cause.

But I don't think Rajiv Kanna alone should not be asked to bear the burden. It is time for us to reinforce all our strength to focus on the greater cause. We need a solid backing from all the institutes which might help us with the issue. For starters we could get the support of AILA to back our cause.

Good reference buddy. It is good to see more open minds. Yes everybody has their own agenda, BUT IT IS OUR SKILLS AND SMARTS how to use them for our cause. Take a look at AILA and MPI responses to myself and take it from there. Some people are talking to USCIS Director...

MSR01, Thanks for volunteering. We have yet to decide the make up of the committee, (currently looking at 3 members per community with a team lead), but will be doing so in our next conference call/email group. Could you please send Edison a pm with your email address so that he can include you in our yahoo group.

We are also looking at an accounts committee to handle and explore monetary requirements and to set up fund raising goals. Plus investigate costs of financing different campaigns.
 
Sorry I could not attend the conference call, though I got the mail somehow I forgot about that as I had too many things going on. Don't forget to count me in for the future efforts.

The core team needs to discuss how to make this joining process a painfree one for all involved. We must over come these glitches in our process, do you think a fresh thread is warranted for inviting people to join in the team?

Core team was formed from active members of this forum / project. I got lot of PMs who want to be part of core team, I requested them to join/form state level group/volunteer.

Let's consolidate all the volunteers(new and old) and then we can add representative from each state or expand core team accordingly.

If we add lot of members to core team then it is very difficult to manage or focus on issues.

Microlevel management is good to succeed in our mission. So let's have two tier team as planned earlier
1. Core action team
2. Volunteers for action team

I think this is the first time you volunteered in this forum, I've have never seen your reply for all my requests to join action team(various threads). It is better to post in open forum than just sending PM.

It looks like you are from NC goahaed and start NC group.
