Finally heard the magic words in AVM

Yesterday I checked the AVM and found that my case got approved on Sep. 12th
Details:-
EB3, India. PD 01/99
I-485 ND 09/99 (First 2 stages was cleared very quickly, after that it was a long wait of 2 years)
I was fingerprinted 3 times.
RFE for W2 and employment letter issued on 06/08/01
Replied 06/22/01.
AVM updated on 08/23/01
Approved 09/12/01
Yet to receive the approval notice.

Question.

Iam planning to change my wife\'s last name, my lawyer told me that at the time of passport stamping I can ask them put the new last name and then change the last name on the passport. Any experiences on the similar issue / or any advices.

Babu rao,

I think when you fill the form for GC stamping write the new last name and other names you can write the old one. So you will get GC with new name and when your passport expires you can take new passport with new name otherwise you can change passport after getting plastic card.

Earlier you posted , only spouse got FP notice and you didn\'t get?
When did you do FP? When it was actually Scheduled?

I went to INS and requested for FP notice, the office printed a FP notice and I went to ASC on the same day and gave my FP. MY FP date was 07-27-01
