Here is my Journey :

Applied for labor: Sept,1999

RD : 11-07-2001
EB3,India
ND : 11-25-2001

Received letter from St.louis Office on April 1st,2003 to attend for an interview on April 28th,2003. I was on vacation in India from
March 22nd - April 30th. I received an e-mail from my lawyer
regarding the notice. So, I cancelled my return date from 3oth to
23rd to attend the Interview. Used my AP to enter when we came back to US.

We Attended the Interview and the lady who interviewd us is
good. She asked me to show letter of employment. She also asked
me to show lease aggrements, bank account to verify we have a
common address. She also asked to show more like photos, joint insurance..... But I said I didn't bring my photos as they asked
only for employment letter in the Notice. She took photocopies of
the documents and said everything looks fine but your background checks haven't completed yet. She said you have to wait till May 19th to approve.

Finally received approval letters in Mail on June 13th,2003. We are
so happy that ordeal came to an end.

Best of luck for those who are waiting and may god bless all of u.

Question

Hi,
I have a question. Did INS give you an option to reschedule the interview. Did their interview letter indicate anything like that. My wife may travel around the time she may receive the interview letter . I am wondering if INS lets you reschedule ?

Thanks

Prang,

As per my lawyer INS don't allow changes to the
Interview date. That's the reason I have to change
my itinary to attend the Interview as specified by
INS.

Do you know the name of INS officer?

Raj157, congratulations!

Do you know the name of the immigration officer who interviewed you? I had an interview on Nov. 19, 2001. The officer told me that she needed my I140 package from Nebraska for approval. In Feb. of this year I asked a senator office to inquire my case. INS said that I was under name check and they did not know when this name check could get through. I am still waiting. Last week I wrote to the senator again and did not get feedback yet.

bxhst,

I roughly remember her name. I guess it is Cathy.
Normally background checks take from 2 weeks - 6
months.

Best of luck and may god bless u.

gracgom,

I am with the same employer for 6 years till to date. So, mine is not ac21 case.
