My I-1485 has finally been approved on 10/13/06. The journey started in Jan'02 and has gone thru several hurdles.

PD - Jan'02 (EB2-India)
I-485 filed - May '04
I-485 approved on 10/13/06.

Yes, I was stuck in name check for a long time. My name check got cleared in February, 2006. My PD was current in April, 2006 but my I-485 was stuck in IBIS checks. By the time that was thru, the visas for EB2 were no longer available. Finally that visas became available only on October, 2006 and the approval came thru.
 
How did you know you were stuck on name check and how did you find out when your name check procedure got cleared ?

last week few LUD's on my I 485 ...

I contacted my local congressman and senator and they were able to find out information about the name check status.

Regarding the LUD's, the recent ones were in June'06 and then in August'06. Just prior to the approval, I had an LUD on 10/13/06 and then after a while, the status changed to "Welcome notice has been mailed". I was in India at that time and came back on 10/16/06 using Advance Parole. On 10/16/06, the status changed to "Card has been Ordered" and on 10/17/06, it changed to "Case has been approved and approval notice has been Mailed".

GC_Sanker, I see that you are pretty close to approval. Wish you all the best.

I have almost the same pattern as yours. PD Nov 2001, I485 RD Feb 2005 (NSC), RFE (EVL) on Aug 03, RFE response sent on Oct 10th, RFE Received LUD on Oct 12, then LUDs on Oct 13, Oct 16 (Mon - but was updated before the day started), Oct 17, Oct 18
 
I received the Welcome notice as well as the Permanent Resident card on 10/21/06. It is indeed a big relief to receive know that the journey that started in January, 2002 has finally ended.
