Hi, There:

Both my family and I got approval notice (email) a moment ago. I should be excited if I got it a little bit earlier. However, I would like to express my sincere thinks to you people on this great forum. It is you that have given me suggestions and encouragements during these 945 days. A special think would go to HuHu03 whose post on Mar. 22, 2005 I think help me a lot because my situation was very similar to his/hers (Name Check was stuck to the FBI). By following his/her route, I wrote to David Hardy (head of Name check) and Mr. Hooton (Assistant Director) via certified mail. I think these letters really work as I got approval 11 days after sent out the letters although I have not gotten any responses from the FBI. Hope everyone on this forum get their GC soon. I will come back this forum time to time in case I could be of any helps. Thanks.

Good Luck and Congratulations.
One of my friend's name check is still pending with FBI. Can you post the link of HuHu03's suggestion on how to followup with FBI by certified mail. It will be definitely be helpful for my friend since his 485 ND is 04/02 from Vermont and he came to know about his name check pending when he went to the Local office interview. Now he is stuck and don't know  what to do.

Oct 2002 case still waiting

NCR:
Congratulations to your approval! I have a question for you, how did you know your name check was pending in FBI?

I was done my FP in Dec 2004 and is still waiting for approval. I did a case inquiry through 800 in early March and there is nothing update so far and I also contacted a state senator three weeks ago and it was said that they are contacting the related agency for me. I emailed to FBI on Jan 4, 2005 regarding name check issue and I haven't got any response back. I did have a typo on my last name and had asked my attorney and she told me that don't worry about the typo. I suspect that my case is stuck in name check due to the typo of wrong first letter on my last name. Please let me know what you had wrote in the certified letter to FBI director?

Thanks a lot, Guys.

Sorry for late response. The HuHu03’s post link is: http://boards.immigration.com/showpost.php?p=1096356&postcount=6. I got these two people’s address from other post on this forum. They were:
Mr. William L. Hooton
Records Management Division
Federal Bureau of Investigation
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20535

Mr. David Hardy
RID Section
Federal Bureau of Investigation
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20535

I got a mail from the USCIS Texas Center three weeks after I did case inquiry through # 800, and was told that my case was pending because they was waiting for Name Check. So I tried to find a way to deal with the FBI. At this moment, I saw HuHu03’s post on this forum, and followed his/her advice.

What I wrote in these letters was let them know that your case was far overdue due to Name check, and why you need your green card

Thanks a lot for the information. I'll let my friend know about this and ask him to followup with Mr. Hooton and Mr. Hardy on his Name check. (His spouse Name check has already cleared).
