My Final Asylum Decision was mailed on Jan 8th 2008 per IO in DC. I will receive it in a couple of days per the IO that I contacted in DC.

For those with prolonged pending Recommended Approved Asylum cases, I recommend that you guys call on the Asylum dept in DC, Thankful pm me the tel no. so pm thankful or pm me for the tel no.

It really seeemed like the IO in Los Angeles process my file only after the IO in DC contacted the LA office.

Is this part of USCIS? I have never heard of them! Do you have their phone no. and/or their mailing address?

You have not heard of it because they are the top managers (yes they are part of the USCIS) of the asylum system in this country. They are usually not the business of helping individuals. They make policies. I gave vinisterz the phone number because he was having a compelling situation (excessive delay in his case) and was hoping that national managers could help him out. They did.

Could u let me the number so that I call on behalf of my cousin who had his asylum interview without any decision from the asylum office for about 5 months.

My cousin is no longer in legal status since august 2007.
As you can see, we don't really understand what's going on there, five months is damn too long isn't it.
We sent an inquiry as you did, the only news pending.
