fill in the H-1 gap with B-1?

Hi

I have a company that is offering to get me an H-1B for the upcoming quota. however the company wants me to be in the US in July for some unpaid training. Is it possible for the company to apply for the H-1B and then request a B-1 visitor for business visa so that i can go to the US in july? If this is possible, which should we apply for first H-1B or B-1? and do they cause problems with each other?

H1 company will apply in US and you can use it only from Oct 2006.

Your B1 you have to go embassy in your home country and apply for it.

H1 is nothing to do with applying B1.

H1 petion may or may not get approved and that is not a visa.
