Filing I130 Abroad

Hello,

I would like to file for family based GC for my sister, her husband, and their 2 kids. I understand that an American citizen has to file with the local embassy/consulate if they are living aborad (ie outside of US). In my case that embassy would be Mumbai Embassy.

Does anyone know if filing outside of the US will impact the processing time as well as any acceptance/rejection probabilities?

Thanks in advance.

Ram

Depending on the consul/consulate, you may be asked to show proof of US domicile (or proof of intention to set up domicile in the US) in order to submit an I-130.
