filing I-485

Hi all,

My friend's lawyer said that he had filed the I-485 without asking him for the Medical Examination and Birth Certificate.

Is the rules changed OR my friend will need to show at the time of Interview?

You'll get an RFE for ME and BC when your file is picked up for adjudication.....

Sometimes applications are rejected as frivilous applications if not accompanied by documents such as ME (at the time of receipt). Hope that did not happen.
 
Wow!!! This throws up a big red flag. Your friend better keep close watch on what the lawyer is doing. The medicals and BC are absolutely necessary. Why did the lawyer decide to file without them? Was it to get the application in as soon as possible so that your friend could maintain legal status? I cannot think of any other reason which justifies leaving them out.
