Filing I-140 when outside the US

Hi

My labor just got approved and I want to file my I140. I am currently ouside the US. At the I140 stage we need to state our preferance for AOS or CP. Can I elect for AOS while filing for my I140 assuming that I will be back in the US when I actually file my I485 or do I need to present in the US even when filing my I140 if I specify the AOS option ?
Are thare any INS sites that give clear instructions as to this matter ?
 
Yes

Yes you can apply for I140. Just because you are opting for 485 does not mean that you have to be in US at the time of applying I140.
No there are no such sites.
