Filing Form I-130 alone

Hello Everyone!!

I am new to the site. (Hello to everyone!) Well first of all I would like to explain my current situation.
My husband and I have been trying to fill out and complete all of the immigration forms required for a GC, but since we are only 20 and still in school our I-864 Affidavit of Support requires a joint sponsor (his mother) and it is taking her some time to fill it out, with this said I believe we are unable to send all of the packet at this time. =( BUT I was wondering if it would be possible/safe/smart to send form I-130 along with all its requirements by itself, for now. As we wait for the joint sponsor. Once the Affidavit of support is completed and form I-130 approved to send the rest of the packet (forms I-485, I-693, I-765, I-131, and the G-325s). Do you guys think this is a smart choice? What are the mailing procedures? We have a PO box.
We initially had a lawyer but due to cost and our current struggles we had to continue by ourselves.
I greatly appreciate the help.

God Bless

it is possible, relatively safe, but not smart.
It provides absolutely no benefits to file I-130 by itself, if you are a US citizen. Wait till all your documents are ready, and then file everything in one package.
You don't need a lawyer at this stage.
