Filing for mother and father through different routes

Planning to file for mother using AOS and father thru CP while he is in India ( in parallel ).
Does anyone see any risks involved in doing this ?
Is travelling to the US on a B1 for a weeks vacation risky if you currently have a pending I-130 ( CP )
