Hi,
My friend filed I485 after July 31,2007 and got EAD card. She need to apply for the extension of EAD Card. How much is the fees she has to pay? In the EAD application form it says that If you applied I485 after July 31,2007 then you need not pay fees for filing for EAD card. Can anyone please clarify this statement?

If you check the announcement, the last paragraph has been subject to debate, with many reading it as allowing free EAD/AP renewals for the life of the pending I-485. This matter should be clarified soon, as more renewals are submitted. You might want to check with an experienced attorney, but honestly even USCIS customer service is giving conflicting answers right now, apparently.
 
I called USICS to get clarification on the fee for all the blessed filers (Jul 2007 fiasco) and it seems that we have to pay $340 since the criteria is more based on how much we paid for 485 application if we pay the new fee then free renewals and for old fee filers $340 every renewal
