My wife and I filed in person at the San Diego District Office last August, got my EAD the next day (again, went in person), AP about 2 weeks later in the mail. Things seemed to be going real quickly as I got called for fingerprinting at the end of October. But since then I've heard nothing.
I thought we were being smart by filing in person but there seems to be no way of finding out the status of our case. The officer gave me an A-number right away but we have no WAC/EAC number with which to use the online status webpage.
I did call the national number and they just laughed that I wanted to know the status after only 9 months, said it would be two years. But I read so many people here seeing their case progress and I wish I could do the same.
So was filing at the office a bad thing to do? The woman on the phone said we might get a WAC number at some point but it wasn't certain and I would just have to wait.
Anyone here file at an office and find out the status of their case?
Paul
