My wife is a physician and is currently completing J-1 waiver job. She still has 2 years to go.
I am almost ready to file 485 for myself and my wife is listed as dependent.
I am not subjected to the waiver program as I came to usa on H-1B.
My wife came to USA on J-1 and therefore subjected to the 3 yr waiver program.
The green card is filed under my name and my wife is listed as a dependent.
Even though she is listed as dependent does she have to wait for 3 yrs before she can file for 485?
How long after I get the green card can I file for her 485?
I was told that I have only a One yr after getting the green card to file for my wife's green card?
If thats the case and I get my green card in 3 months then there is no way she would qualify to file for 485?
In such a case what's my alternative.
