Filig I-485 with my Ex-employer

My ex-employer is willing to continue my I-485 (by giving a future offer letter) as the prevailing market conditions forced me to look for a new job. However my intent is to get back to my ex-employer after the approval. Does anyone know whether I can file for I-485 through my old employer even though I don\'t work for them any more ?. Is it acceptable to INS ?. Do I have any issues here ?.
 
Should not be a problem

If ur ex employer is willing.. go ahead and file ur 485 with a future employment letter.

this would definitely be referred to the local ins for an interview. so before the interview .. to keep ur case clean. u may have to join him and have two or three paystubs.

I am not sure how the portability may apply to your case . That is..if ur case is pending for over 180 days, the possibility of u showing a job with similar description etc...
