Hi everyone,

This is about my mother. She got married with the US citizen and filed the AOS. She sent in petition (I-485, I-130, I-765) since July 15th through the attorney. She have not receive any NOA or anything in the mail until now. I've seen most of you guys who filed in July got the receipts already. We called the USCIS and they told us to wait until September. Until now, we still have not heard anything from them. I wonder if there's anyone that still haven't got the receipts? When you file through attorney, who will get the notice in mail? You, the lawyer, or both?

Thank you everyone,

Maybe you should ask her attorney what's going on. We have seen cases here where attorney took his/her time to send everything out. Also, check where they sent everything. It was supposed to be sent to Chicago, yet some attorneys screw up and send to Service centers. That could delay the application.
If they did everything right, you should have gotten the receips. You and your attorney will get ther receipts.
Call the attorney - isn't that what you pay them for?

Absolutely! The attorney should have sent your mom a copy of everything that was mailed to USCIS. That will show when it was mailed and where. Both your mom and her attorney will get copies of the receipts. I would definitely give him a call to find out what is going on. As you can see from our timeline, our docs were mailed on 7/10 and receipt date was 7/13.

Well... the attorney said she sent it to Chicago. She just told my mom to wait for it. She doesn't seem to care. My step dad went to see the lawyer today, she said she was busy and couldn't talk. I really don't know what to do. I live in CA and they live in KY.

That would honestly make me absolutely nervous. Your Mom is paying her to do a job and she needs to take 2 minutes to work with her and tell her when they were sent or at the very least supply her with the tracking # to show her they have been sent in.

I am using a lawyer for our case and we havent exactly had an easy relationship (takes a few days to get a call back) but our lawyer is one of the biggest immigration lawers in Ontario Canada and in Michigan so it is understandable HOWEVER, no proof it has even been mailed in yet makes me think bad thoughts. I hope that something happens soon and tell your mom to stay on the lawyers coat tails and if she has to, sit in her office all day until she answers her questions. I would refuse to leave without knowing what is going on and having hard copy proof in hand.

Good Luck to her & keep us updated.
